If you’ve endured food sensitivity, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, acid reflux, leaky gut or Celiac disease, it is not a life sentence. Many people can completely heal. Everyone else can improve markedly to live a life full of cheer, energy and confidence. It's simply a matter of addressing the underlying condition and it couldn't be more natural!
There are four main purposes for food:
- Nourish
- Heal
- Cleanse
- Balance
If you need to reconstitute your health you can do so by focusing on healing and sealing your digestive system, rebalancing your microbe population and systemic cleansing to remove built-up toxins. The healing foods and the balancing foods used in this process, along with the recommended nutritional supplements, provide ample nourishment.
Vast numbers of people have lost their ability to digest complex carbohydrates (including double-sugars like sucrose as well as starches). These undigested complex carbohydrates feed the already overgrown pathogenic microbes which produce toxins, prevent nutrient absorption, cause food sensitivities and damage intestinal walls. Avoiding gluten is popular these days but rarely successful. A more holistic approach is needed.
Processed foods are to be avoided too because even good quality ingredients are damaged in production and take on toxic characteristics.
The cause of acid reflux is, shockingly, insufficient stomach acid. It seems counter-intuitive but if you had enough stomach acid, the food would be quickly broken down and passed on to the small intestine. Lacking stomach acid means it lingers in the stomach and starts to rot which produces a secondary acid. All of this is due to imbalanced gut flora which suppresses stomach acid production and paralyses the sphincter which is supposed to close off the stomach to the oesophagus. As a result, the acid can reflux back into the throat. Do not take stomach acid inhibitors.
Nourishing, healing, cleansing and rebalancing tends to optimise:
- energy
- strength
- blood sugar
- brain-fog
- sleep
- and even weight!
Healing foods are primarily slow-cooked meat stocks (chicken, beef, fish, pork, venison and others). These contain the building blocks for restoring the stomach lining until enzymes are plentiful again. Work your way up to one cup of chicken/beef/fish stock with each meal or even have it as the meal itself with the meat and veggies forming a meaty soup or stew.
Cleansing foods include juicy fruits and vegetables — especially if freshly juiced. If these have too much fibre in them and you find them hard to digest you can select appropriate uncooked animal products which can have the same effect.
Balancing foods include yogurt, sour cream, crème fraîche, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, poi, tempeh and natto. These provide probiotic benefits to ensure healthy digestive enzymes are produced in sufficient numbers to properly break foods down into nutrients.
If you’re looking to restore your vitality, this approach is a wise choice because it is natural, gentle and proven.

* Slow-cooked to draw out optimal nutrients.
** Therapeutic so be cautious since it can have side effects.
